There are several services that will be utilized for your procedure, including but not limited to:
- The physician’s professional fee for performing the procedure
- The facility fee where the procedure is performed. This includes any anesthesia-related fees.
- Any pathology services utilized after the procedure
Approximately one week prior to your procedure, Liberty Endoscopy Center’s benefits verification department will contact your insurance carrier to obtain necessary authorization and to verify in-network and out-of-network coverage and benefits. Liberty Endoscopy Center and the anesthesiologists it employs accept the vast majority of health insurance plans. The physician performing your procedure is an in-network provider who participates in your insurance plan. Pathology services are also sent to in-network providers only. Please be aware that you are responsible for any deductibles, co-insurance, or copayments as indicated by your insurance carrier. Coverage and benefits may vary based on your individual policy. If the Center is not a participating provider with your health plan, any benefits available for your care will be provided on an out-of-network basis, which may result in additional costs to you.
Liberty Endoscopy Center’s benefits verification department will contact you approximately 3-5 days prior to your procedure date to review your estimated financial responsibility (when applicable). Such fee disclosure can only be an estimation and is subject to unforeseen medical or other circumstances that may arise when the healthcare services are provided.
Please note that if you are scheduled for a screening colonoscopy and are under the age of 50 (e.g. if you have a family history of colon cancer), we recommend that you contact your insurance carrier directly to review any potential financial responsibility prior to your exam.
