Billing

We understand that the insurance landscape is complex and make every effort to ensure that the billing process is transparent and simple. Your endoscopic procedure will generate several different bills from different sources.

  1. The physician’s professional fee for performing the procedure.
  2. The facility fee where the procedure is performed. This includes any anesthesia-related fees.
  3. Any pathology services utilized after the procedure

Liberty Endoscopy Center’s billing department will be contacting your insurance carrier to obtain necessary authorization, and to verify in-network and out-of-network coverage and benefits. The physician performing your procedure is an in-network provider who participates in your insurance plan. Pathology services are also sent to in-network providers only. Please be aware that you are responsible for any in-network deductibles, co-insurance, or copayments as indicated by your insurance carrier. Coverage and benefits may vary based on your individual policy.

Liberty Endoscopy Center accepts most major health insurance plans. However, the Center may not participate with your specific health insurance plan. If the Center is not a participating provider with your health plan, any benefits available for your care will be provided on an out-of-network basis, which may result in additional costs to you. The Center’s billing department will contact you in advance of your procedure date to review your estimated financial responsibility, when applicable. Such fee disclosure can only be an estimation and is subject to unforeseen medical or other circumstances that may arise when the healthcare services are provided.   The billing department will make every attempt to notify you of your financial responsibility ahead of the time of service. If the billing department is unable to reach you prior to your procedure you will be given the amount at check-in.

Please note that if you are scheduled for a screening colonoscopy and are under the age of 50 (e.g. if you have a family history of colon cancer), we recommend that you contact your insurance carrier directly to review any potential financial responsibility prior to your exam.
